Google
New Merchant Center Recommendations
Google has launched
new recommendations within Merchant Center to help identify and resolve product disapprovals. These insights are accessible via Google Analytics on the Home page, Insights hub, Reports snapshot, and the Acquisition overview report.
By addressing these disapprovals, you can improve the visibility of your products in Google Shopping results and enhance the performance of your Shopping ads. Swift action on these recommendations can lead to increased organic traffic and a boost in online sales potential.
Enhanced Custom Channel Groups
The update allows for using the
manual ad content parameter when creating custom channels. This enhancement means your channel analysis is no longer restricted to automatically tagged parameters, fostering a more tailored approach. This feature is especially useful for users with Editor-level permissions, enabling deeper insights and customisation.
Streamlined Key Event Recommendations
Google Analytics now provides two
new recommendations aimed at improving key event tracking. The recommendations include:
Mark as Key Events: This recommendation highlights an existing event on your property and provides an option to easily mark it as a key event with just a single click.
Create Key Events: This recommendation enables the creation of a new event from a specific page view, automatically marking it as a key event in one simple action.
These new recommendations can be found in Google Analytics on the Home page, Insights hub, and Reports snapshot.
Adaptations to the Digital Markets Act (DMA)
The Digital Markets Act has driven significant changes to Google’s services in Europe. Over the past year, Google has made over 20 modifications to Search, including
new formats to highlight comparison sites for categories like flights and hotels.
In response to ongoing stakeholder feedback, Google plans to introduce new ad units for comparison sites and allow users to select between results leading to comparison sites and supplier websites. A short-term test will be conducted in Germany, Belgium, and Estonia, temporarily removing certain hotel features to gauge the impact on user experience and traffic.
Meta
Direct Lead Saving to Google Sheets
Meta has introduced a feature that allows Instant Form leads to be delivered straight to Google Sheets. Previously, users relied on third-party services like Zapier for this task. Now, advertisers can connect their Instant Forms directly to Google Sheets, streamlining lead management. This integration allows for more efficient data handling and easier access to lead information for reporting.
